ASD Family Help Male Carers Bowling & Meal - Saturday 10th March Are you a 'Male' Parent / Step-Parent / Brother / Uncle / Grandfather of a person with disabilities? If so, you qualify for the 'Male Carers' Social Events (age 18-100)! It is a very relaxed and fun evening - Bowling then a meal. The venue is The Big Apple, Wokingham Superbowl, Phoenix Plaza, Wellington Road, Wokingham RG40 2NJ. Arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. Cost is £6.95 for 2 games of bowling. Optional meal afterwards - the carvery in Basingstoke Road was chosen on 4th Feb, and cost just £3.95 per person!. If anyone is interested in going but would need financial assistance to attend please contact ASD Family Help in confidence as there is some funding available if you are a Parent/Carer of an adult with Complex and Severe needs - PMLD (subsided by WBC Learning Disability Partnership). ASD Family Help Exclusive Use Bowling and Laser Quest Evening - Saturday 14th April We have booked the entire Wokingham Superbowl venue for our sole use from 7pm to 11pm, this means unlimited bowling and/or laser quest and full use of the centre, some games machines will be on Free to play. For families with younger children an earlier start time of 6pm can be requested when booking. The cost is £4 each or £18 for a family ticket (Up to 6 immediate family only), these are prices are heavily subsidised. Payment is required in advance, you will be given details of how to pay when your booking is confirmed. 7. ASD Family Help - Three Frogs Club We are starting a new ASD Social Group where people can make friends and enjoy a meal and a chat. The group is for adults (18+) with Asperger Syndrome or autism who require little or no supervision and are comfortable in a group setting. Their partners and friends are also welcome. The group will meet at The Three Frogs, 222 London Road, Wokingham, RG40 1SW on the third Thursday of every month, (19th April; 17th May; 21st June etc.). Arrive between 7 and 7.30pm (and finish about 10.30pm). Go in the front entrance and turn right. The cost will be about £10 to £15 for a meal and a drink. Important Information
1. Parents must stay in the building for children under the age of 11years
2. The staff 'funding' is for 1 adult to 3 children, therefore it is open to those able to access a Social Activity in a small group setting (Average group size is 8 ) - a trial session may be required to ensure the group dynamics work well.
3. Your address is within Wokingham Borough i.e. you pay your Council Tax to Wokingham Borough Council
4. Places must be booked through ASD Family Help via contact@asdfamilyhelp.org - Places will be allocated on a 1st-come-1st-served basis, providing the applicants meet the criteria.

ASD Family Help Ladies Overnight Break These are on a ‘trial’ - ie…if people book and go, we will run them, BUT if they don’t then we can’t! Accomodation is at Honeysuckle Barn Swallowfield. There are 4 rooms (all ensuite) so 4 ladies only. The Facility is open to you from Friday afternoon until Monday morning, but you can decide to stay less nights if you want. A help yourself continental breakfast is included but no other food or drink. A minimum of £15 contribution is required. Click here for more details. ASD Family Help User Led Young Carers/Siblings (Social Activities) Group Do you have a Young Person that ........... 1. Lives within Wokingham Borough (that means your Council Tax bill comes from Wokingham Borough Council, but can live in any area/town/village within the Borough) 2. Has a brother, sister, or parent with Autism (ASD) 3. Is aged 12-17 years 4. Wants to do the things that other Young People their age do (i.e. Cinema / Bowl / LQ / Shopping / Meal out etc) with Young People in a similar situation. 5. Term time - One evening a month - 6pm to 9pm (day not confirmed at the moment, but more than likely a Tuesday or Wednesday evening) 6. Young People contribute £3 towards each Social Activity evening
During the School Holidays (1 Christmas, 1 Easter & 1 Summer) there will be a special day or evening Social Activity chosen by the Young People. Again their contribution will be £3 They will be supported by both staff & volunteers of ASD Family Help If your Young Person is interested, please contact ASD Family Help for an application form. Start date is Wednesday 29th February.
Initially we have approximately 10-15 places, and these places are available to both boys and girls.
