All 4 Sport Free Family Swimming Sessions Monthly All 4 Sport free family swimming sessions (for children aged 5 to 16 years) are being at the Carnival Pool (all 6.30pm to 7.30pm). There are also some dates for swimming at Bulmershe Leisure Centre. See the flyer here.

Trike and Go-Kart Hire at Dinton Pastures Trikes are for children 3 to 16 years and go-karts for ages 10+ Wokingham Council are running some registration/training session for parents and carers wishing to use the new Trike Hire. Dates are Wednesday June 23 from 4pm to 5pm, Wednesday July 7 from 4pm to 5pm, and Saturday August 7 from 10am to 11am all at Dinton Pastures At the sessions they will be running through the basics of how to adapt the trike for your child (this is very simple, and will mainly be adjusting handlebars/seat height etc). You will be able to view the go-karts and trikes and complete your registration form. Once you are registered, you will be able to hire the go-karts and trikes any day that the park is open, between 10am and 4pm. Places on the training sessions must be booked in advance and if you are unable to attend on any of these dates further sessions can be arranged, please contact Lucy Skye Tel: 0118 974 3750 or Email: lucy.skye@wokingham.gov.uk It is planned to introduce the trikes and go-karts at California Country Park in the future. Cycling Proficiency Course for Young People with Additional Needs age 10+ Monday August 9 to Friday August 13 Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 12noon and Friday from 9.30am to 1pm Your child will need to attend for the full week and assessment will take place on the Friday. It will run from Bulmershe Leisure Centre, Woodley, using the car park space and surrounding roads. Kay Nicker from Bulmershe Explorers Youth Club and her colleagues will be running the course and have a lot of experience working with young people with additional needs. There is a maximum of ten spaces - if more people are interested, the course will be run during this week in the afternoons as well.

Thank Goodness It's Friday - New Social Group There is an exciting new Social Group which has its first meeting on Friday 4th June. Although organised by Bracknell Mencap, people with Asperger Syndrome or High Functioning Autism from other towns and localities are welcome. Called T.G.I.F. the group is specifically for people aged 18 to 30, and at the first meeting everyone will be asked about their favourite activities so that future events can be planned. Woodley Westcoast Club The club is for 10 - 16 years with additional needs and runs on a Tuesday evening from 4.30pm - 5.30pm. The club is accredited through the English Federation disability sports and in July gained Club Mark Status which is a quality mark for a well run club. Woodley Westcoast is the first disability sports club in Berkshire to gain this award. Members receive coaching in various sports such as Badminton, Dodge ball and Short tennis, Football, Tag rugby and Golf. For more infomation contact Jennie Farrow on 0118 921 6969.

Rose Buddies Community Life Group Thursdays 10am to 12 noon A new weekly group for adults with learning difficulties. That will give you the skills and information to help play a full and active part in your community. Learn about - Staying fit and healthy, Relationships, Keeping safe, Looking after your money. The Big Film Club - at the Vue Cinema at Reading 'A for Film' and the Vue Cinema Group have formed The Big Film Club. The new club is for grown-ups with additional needs, it will be at the Vue Cinema in Reading every Thursday. Full details here.
Swimming every Friday in Wokingham - Weekly public swimming sessions for children with additional needs and their families and carers will be held at Carnival Pool, Wellington Road, Wokingham. It will run from 6.15pm to 7pm every Friday £1.50 for the child, carer gets in free. CAN Card holders only have to pay £1.20 per child (under three years go free), and a carer can swim for FREE.
All swim sessions have a range of floats, toys and swim equipment to encourage nervous swimmers and provide some fun! For more information, contact the pool on (0118) 977 0007

Thames Valley Adventure Playground - TVAP offers stimulation, fun and friendship, whatever your special need, whether you have a physical or sensory disability, whether you have a learning difficulty or behavioural or emotional problems.

Camp Mohawk The aim of Camp Mohawk is to provide day facilities, primarily for children with Autism, to those families who most need a break. See the flyer here.
Thumbs Up Club The Club caters for children with moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulities who may also have sensory, motor or behavioural difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders.
Riding for the Disabled - RDA is a federation of Member Groups, which are dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities, through the provision of opportunities for riding and/or carriage driving.

LEAP Youth Club for 16 to 25 year olds with moderate learning disabilities. Various activities, mostly selected by the young people themselves, including trips out, art, cookery, music, drama and dance. Every year young people are also given the opportunity to go on an activity holiday.
