ASD Family Help
The ASD Family Help group is an independent and wholly voluntary group of parents and carers that can work on behalf of those that are involved with children and adults on the autistic spectrum.
The ASD Family Help Meetings These meetings are informal, and there is the opportunity for parents to discuss current problems. The problems can be anything, and the idea is that the parents will form a 'bond' to feel confident to discuss what they need, from benefits to GP's, and for other parents to either assist in their experiences, or direct parents to the best person to speak to. It is also just to relieve themselves from their child's anxieties and feel that the group is a 'safe haven' to enable them to do this.
The evenings can also take on a more social angle, with the opportunity to have visitors from Health, Social and Education (by request) to talk to parents. Or have an evening of food and drink. YOU DECIDE. The first meeting will be to find out what parents want, or just to get to know each other. Any matters arising from these meetings that relate to WASP, can be passed via Wendy onto the WASP Parents Group and vice versa.
