Council Tax Benefit - Council tax benefit is help towards paying your annual council tax bill. Council tax benefit is an income related benefit, which means it is calculated by taking into account your income, capital and household circumstances. If you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or the guarantee credit of Pension Credit, your benefit will cover the whole of your Council Tax bill and you will have nothing to pay.

Second Adult Rebate - Second Adult Rebate is a form of Council Tax Benefit that can be paid instead of, but not as well as, the main type of Council Tax Benefit. Second Adult Rebate also reduces your Council Tax Bill. The other person must be 18 or over, not paying rent, not responsible to pay Council Tax, and have income below a certain amount.
