![]() These meetings are informal, and there is the opportunity for parents to discuss current queries. These can be anything, and the idea is that the parents will form a 'bond' to feel confident to discuss what they need, from benefits to GP's, and for other parents to either assist with their experiences, or help parents to contact the correct person or organisation.
The evenings take on a more social angle, with the opportunity to have visitors from Health, Social and Education (by request) to talk to parents and carers. OR have an evening of food and drink. YOU DECIDE.
Any matters arising from these meetings that relate to the local authority (Wokingham Borough Council), will be passed on and vice versa.
We hope that parents will come and find that they are supported, can support others from time to time, and feel useful at the meetings, as well as 'having a say' in what can develop from the meetings.
It is the responsibility of the group to welcome new members, and not for one person to try and split themselves into numerous directions. We all experience good and difficult times.
We are unable to achieve what the majority would like without the input from the majority, so your help would be very much appreciated. ©2008 ASD Family Help - All rights reserved www.ASDFamilyHelp.org
